Not Just Memorable . . . Unforgettable
Zachrisson, Johnston, Pancherz, Liou, Gianelly and many more. It will be an EXPERIENCE. WaterFire, a kind of primal civil right that brings people of all ages and backgrounds, couples and families, strolling down the promenade to the sounds of minstrels and Mozart. It will be FUN. Trips to Newport, Narragansett Bay and Foxwoods. It will be HUGE. Join us in Providence for NESO’s 87th Annual Meeting.
The award-winning Westin Hotel, adjacent to the Rhode Island Convention Center in the heart of downtown Providence, will be the headquarters hotel, with plenty of excellent hotels near by. Hotels are within easy walking distance of the Convention Center, WaterFire and Providence Place - a tour de force shopping experience. And as to the food, in a Gourmet Magazine recent restaurant competition, Providence was ranked higher than either Boston or New York. Expect great things!
The core of our Annual Session is its continuing education. We have an all-world lineup of speakers. Recognizing the importance of the staff and teamwork, we have opted to combine the doctor and staff clinical programs in the morning sessions on both Friday and Saturday. The clinical staff along, with the doctors, will get to hear the likes of Dr. Bjorn Zachrisson, Dr. Michael Rogers and Dr. Gerry Sampson. The afternoon session audience will be divided. The doctors will listen to Dr. Rolf Behrents, Dr. Chung Kau, Dr. Gabriela Marquez, Dr. Hans Pancherz, Dr. Eric Liou and the Wilcko brothers, Tom and William. The clinical staff have their choice between hearing Carolyn Friedman and Michael Swartz, or participating in a hands-on course with Rita Johnson and Ellen Gambardella. On both Friday and Saturday, the non-clinical staff will experience the presentations of Lori Garland Parker and Debbie Best. Dr. Paul Zuelke will lead an all-day course that the whole team is invited to.
One of the highlights of the meeting will be the Sunday morning panel discussion. Here the doctors will be treated to a discussion on how to treat Class II Division I retrognathic mandibles in growing patients, including fixed and functional appliances. It will be moderated by Dr. Anthony Gianelly, and panelists include Dr. Lysle Johnston, Dr. Terry Dischinger, Dr. Hans Pancherz and Dr. Jim Vaden. Audience participation is anticipated and welcomed.
Though there is much to do and see in Providence, the highlight the Annual Session will be Saturday evening. NESO is the corporate sponsor for that evening’s WaterFire extravaganza. Members, their families and staff will be able to walk from their hotels along the promenade to the President’s Reception in the center of the festivities. Here you will be able to enjoy food and drink while soaking in the surrounding sights and sounds. Afterwards, you can enjoy one of the many fine restaurants that are within walking distance or stay to join the multitudes enjoying the carnival atmosphere of WaterFire. It is a Saturday night in early September. It should be perfect. You can learn more about WaterFire at www.waterfire.com.
Providence 2008 will be the perfect mix of learning and fun. If excellent continuing education credits, at a very reasonable cost, combined with a unique fun-filled experience is what you seek, then mark your calendars for September 12-15, to be in Providence. Look for registration material to be sent later in the spring. In the meantime, visit www.neso.org for more insight and information.
It will be memorable. It will be an experience. It will be fun. It will be HUGE.
